You didn’t need PS Plus to play online games, which is a big difference between PlayStation and Xbox 360 console, which requires Xbox Live Gold to play online games. With the PS4, Sony canceled this offer and made PS Plus a requirement to play games online. Currently, on PS4 and PS5, you don’t need PS Plus to play free games online, but this exception is limited to free games. However, a new report says that PS4 and PS5 users soon won’t need any PS Plus membership to play any online, free or premium game.
