Horizon Forbidden West PS4 and PS5 Update 1.12 Live With Patch Notes

Guerrilla Games and PlayStation released a new version Forbidden horizon west Update via PS4 and PS5. The update, titled Update 1.12, does not come with any new content, but it does come with a bunch of fixes and improvements. These are fixes and improvements, main quests, side quests, weapons, UI, machines, performance, and more.

While we know everything the update does, we don’t know the file size for either PS4 or PS5. The patch notes for the update are extensive, indicating that it won’t be a small file size, but it shouldn’t be too big since there’s no new content. However, that’s how much insight we can give about how long the update will take to download.

known problems

We are currently looking into several issues reported by the community. Please note that these issues are not yet fixed in this patch, but our teams are aware of them and are investigating them.

  • The team continues to make adjustments to the game’s content with the aim of reducing optical flicker.
  • Players have reported an issue with Side Quest “Lofty Ambitions”. After the Abadund dialogue, the player will temporarily not be able to trade with the Abadund because no claim appears.
  • Players reported an issue in the Side Quest where the quest objective was not completed after defeating Frostclaw.
  • Players reported an issue with Handa’s “Ancient Relics” contract, in which quest progress in “2/3 Gather Ancient Relics” or “Go to the Northern Ancient Machine Site” would be suspended if the player left the area.
  • Players have reported that the Apex Grimhorn does not appear in the game outside of missions, which may prevent players from getting 100% completed in the game.
  • Clothes may appear to be covered in dark shades in stock.

Fixes and improvements

Main tasks

  • Fixed an issue with the base where players could get stuck in the shower.
  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest Reaching the Stars where the objective would not complete after reaching the shuttle if the player turned on the device callout before looking at the shuttle.
  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Dying Lands” where progression would not update after defeating the Grimhorn.
  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest “Sea of ​​Sands” where a cinematic would not play, resulting in the “Exit from Ruins” objective not being updated.
  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Sea of ​​Sands” where the land inside the casino was not loaded after getting POSEIDON.
  • Fixed an issue in Main Quest “The Wings of the Ten” where Sunwings would not be located at the top of the base.

Side Questions

  • Fixed an issue in the Side Quest where skipping the “Go to the Start of the Climb” objective and going straight to Wekatta would not update mission objectives.
  • Fixed an issue in Side Quest “The Way Home” where the mission objective “Group Resources for Gyro” would not advance after getting the required amount of batteries.
  • Fixed an issue in Side Quest “Signal Spike” where the “Kill the Machines” objective would not update, resulting in the player not being able to talk to Silga.
  • Fixed an issue in Side Quest “A Tribe Apart” where the player was unable to interact with a Metal Flower.
  • Fixed an issue in the Errand Quest where the child would not talk to Aloy during the ‘Protect the Child’ object.
  • Fixed an issue in the Errand Quest ‘Command Burden’ where a child would be missing after skipping the ‘Scan Area’ target, then restart from save during selected later objectives.
  • Fixed an issue in the Errand Quest “Shining Example” where if a player destroyed Metal Flower Vines before the target changed to “Destroy the Metal Flower’s Vines”, the target would not refresh completely, blocking progression.
  • Fixed an issue in the Errand Quest where Kalla would not appear inside the Maw of the Arena after the player had collected the necessary machine parts.

  • Fixed an issue in Cauldron IOTA where a player could be permanently stuck if they fell during the last climb to the head of a Tallneck.
  • Fixed an issue in Cauldron IOTA where the crafting arm holding the Tallneck’s head would be jammed, hindering mission progress.
  • Fixed an issue in Cauldron KAPPA where the “Kill the Tideripper” objective could not be completed after killing the Tideripper too quickly. Another Tideripper that needs discipline! We definitely know who our smartest devices are.
  • Fixed an issue in Relic Ruins: The Stillsands where a pull-out chest could get stuck to the ceiling.
  • Fixed an issue in the Arena where withdrawing during a Fixed Challenge could cause the player to lose their gear and be replaced by a Threshold from the Arena Challenge.
  • A new cinematic camera has been added in The Arena when completing a challenge, preventing the camera from pointing at the wall.
  • Brighten the nighttime lighting around Black Box: Jagged Deep.
  • Fixed an issue in Melee Pit: Thornmarsh where the Melee Pit Master would become invisible after restarting from a save or fast travel away at a certain moment.

machines

  • Fixed an issue where the laptop loot entry around the Shellsnapper’s ‘Refining Core’ would include flying sludge, although there was a 0% chance of a drop.
  • The more stable Medium and Large machines will ramp up to fight when they lose 35% of their HP in a single shot.

Humans

  • Fixed an issue where fellow missionaries would not respond after being injured in combat.

Weapons / Armor / Skills

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to use melee attacks after being hit by shock/heavy attacks.
  • Fixed an issue where the Dodge Roll might fail to activate if launched immediately upon launch.
  • Fixed an issue where setting the Weapon Wheel Slowdown setting to slower would cause a noticeable appearance of hair and hair when reaching the weapon wheel in-game.

UI / UX

  • Fixed an issue introduced in the previous patch, where the player could not place a waypoint marker within 500m of the player.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual exclamation mark would not appear when acquiring a new item
  • Fixed an issue with the Stitcher dealer screen, where the comparison list would always be compared to the base level stats of the currently equipped outfit, even when upgraded.
  • Added an indicator to show when the weave is already ready when changing the knit.
  • The crafting section under the weapon wheel has been updated with new widgets to show resource names.
  • Updated skill points icon to be more visible when a player has unspent skill points.
  • Fixed more Metal Flowers and Firegleam icons remaining on the map.
  • Fixed an issue where after navigating to the bottom of the longer mission objective log, other mission details would be missing.
  • Fixed an issue where restarting from a save after looting a Greenshine would cause the job system to direct the player to the previously looted location. (Note: This will not retroactively fix missions for previously looted locations that are already active. For these players, once the player reaches the indicated area, the system will refresh and the player will be redirected to the correct location).

performance and stability

  • Multiple crash fixes.

  • Fixed an issue where Aloy could bounce hard for up to 10 seconds while looting an item. The festive booty parties are over, but they live on in the memory.
