DJ claims that AA “launched her” flight

Going to her Instagram and Twitter profiles on Tuesday, DJ Soda claimed she was “kicked” off an AA flight and asked to take her pants off because it was deemed “inappropriate” and “offensive”, South China Morning Newspaper reports.

The musician was traveling from New York to Los Angeles and was wearing black track pants that read “F*** YOU” and “F****N”. The pants are sponsored by brand Ripndip, DJ Soda revealed in her post.

“As they picked me up from the plane, they claimed my track pants were ‘inappropriate’ and ‘offensive,’ and told me I needed to get on the next flight,” the 36-year-old wrote on Instagram.

“I had an important meeting organized in Los Angeles that day, so I couldn’t afford to get off this flight. I pleaded to stay on the plane but was ignored by the staff and flight attendants. I even offered to make a change but the request was denied.”

Soda stated that the flight attendants at the gate didn’t seem to have any issues with her clothes and “gladly welcomed me at the boarding gate,” she added on her post.

HITC has reached out to DJ Soda and American Airlines for comment.

Has American Airlines responded?

American Airlines responded to Soda’s allegations after it flagged the airline’s official Twitter account.

“It is important to us that every customer feels welcome and appreciated every time they travel. Please send a message directly to the locator of record and contact information,” a post from their account reads.

American Airlines has not addressed DJ Soda’s claims and is making a full statement on the matter.
