Thanks to characters like R2-D2, Yoda, and Ewoks in the original Star Wars trilogy, the series has long been known for delivering fantastic creations to audiences, a trend that has only grown stronger since Disney bought Lucasfilm. In the past decade, characters like BB-8, porgs, and Grogu, a.k.a. “Baby Yoda,” have captured the attention of even the most casual viewer, with a brand-new character set to continue that trend in the coming months. The outlet’s sources claim that a major component of the upcoming series features Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) who is tasked with rescuing Leia Organa from a dangerous situation. The new character is said to be somewhat of a protector for Leia, acting as a drone hovering closely around the young princess.
The site notes, “It’s adorable, like a little bug hovering overhead to protect it. This new character aims to entice audiences as the next cute big Star Wars character, after modern characters like Grogu, Babu Frik, and DO. It has a round shape, almost resembling an old flying saucer.” In white and red colours.
at Star Wars: A New HopeHowever, Luke Skywalker has been relatively oblivious to Obi-Wan’s history as a Jedi Master, while Leia has apparently been in contact with Kenobi, sending a message inside R2-D2 asking for his help. The first trailer for the new series confirmed that young Luke will appear in some capacity, with this report indicating that Leia will not only appear on the project, but will have a fairly large role. With a month after the series premiere, it is unknown if young Leah will appear in any promotional material or if her participation will prevent until the series officially debuts.
Disney+ describes the new series, “In the era of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned into enemies and confront the wrath of the Empire.”
