With a month into the Star Wars celebration, details of personal events began to emerge, which included the revelation that a new panel will be held in honor of Star Wars: Jedi Tales Short Animated Series. No actual details about the project have been confirmed, with Lucasfilm not making the announcement themselves, although disclosing this information could lead to more details about the project being revealed before the ceremony. Since one of the featured guests on the panel will be Dave Filoni, he will likely be involved in the project in some form. Star Wars Celebration begins May 26th and My grandfather’s tales The session will take place on Saturday 28 May.

Rumors about the project began emerging last December, as Lucasfilm’s holiday gift featured logos from a variety of projects the studio was working on, which include the logo Star Wars: Jedi Tales. This excited fans not only because this was a completely unknown project that was in development, but also the namesake of the comic book series.
Back in the ’90s, Dark Horse Comics published a series of comic books with My grandfather’s tales The title, which unfolded during the age of the Old Republic of the Galaxy Far Away. In the years since Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm, these stories, once part of the Star Wars Expanded Universe, are now part of the Star Wars Legends corner of the franchise, making them nonessential. Although not part of the official canon, several projects in recent years have seen narrative elements from Legends brought into the appropriate canon, with comic book series elements potentially being explored in new short films.
It should be noted that instead of describing the project as a continuous series, the project is described as a short anthology, so it would be more in line with a project like Star Wars: Visions from Star Wars: Clone Wars. However, with the short films earning a full plate, it’s probably a more ambitious project than the various short films the studio has released on their YouTube channels.
