Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness It’s finally coming to theaters next week, but the latest Marvel movie won’t be coming to a few countries. It was announced last week that the film was banned in Saudi Arabia and soon the same announcement followed in Egypt. It was revealed yesterday that the film includes 12 seconds of footage that Disney refused to remove referring to Chavez’s Mothers America. However, in a new interview with Marvel.comGomez is joined by Marvel executive Victoria Alonso who talks about the character’s identity.
“It’s great for fans to see a young man in the middle of a big story like this, and know that the things that happen in our children’s lives are important because they shape who they will become when they grow up as adults,” Gomez shared. “It’s exciting that we hope to see more about how things play out for America in the future.”
“[America] He is a young Latino who belongs to the LGBTQ+ community, and has great strength,” Alonso adds. “Children want to see themselves represented. There is this level of identity that becomes a very important moment in a teenager’s life – to see himself; so that you are not invisible.”
However, Gomez adds that Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madness It’s not an American origin story, so it’s unclear how much of her life will be featured in the new movie. For now, Gomez comments, “America is living its best life.”
