WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter joins GI Joe Classified Line, signs multi-year deal

The Hasbro GI Joe team held their Fan First Tuesday livestream earlier this week, and over the course of the presentation, they revealed quite a few characters and peeks. While there have been so many great discoveries, it’s hard not to focus on the broadcast’s biggest surprise, which was the reveal of fan favorite GI Joe and WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter, who is now coming to the Hasbro Premium Figure Collection from the GI Joe Classified Collection. During the presentation Sgt. Slaughter made a promo saying he’s re-enlisted with the Hasbro and Joe franchise, but wrestling inc. He’s also reported to have signed a multi-year deal with Hasbro, so maybe we’ll see equal copies of Slaughter in the future.

Sgt. Slaughter’s video demo was a classic, and you can find it here. “Ten-hut! Well rest and listen to the grubs, this Sergeant. Slaughter, a special training instructor for GI Joe, the true American hero. I’m here to share some top-secret intelligence with you. Team GI Joe ran stronger than ever, with a new group A six-inch action figure. I am very proud to announce to you that I, Sergeant, are the heroes who have ever fought.”

“So you better look at my cobra clowns, because I’m re-enlisting with Hasbro, and we haven’t taken any prisoners! These secret recruits are good, and I’m going to make sure they stay that way. Now hear those worms. I want you can watch this digital sneak peek of the toughest rated action figure from Before GI Joe ever I’m! Sergeant. Slaughter. Did I make myself clear? Good! Then keep watching Hasbro Pulse for more info on when you can add Sergeant. Slaughter GI Joe is an anthropomorphic figure for your ranked group. Well, Worms, now you know ‘Knowledge is half the battle. Yu Ju!”

The figure looks great, and is based on the animated version of Slaughter but gives everything a luster and a more realistic touch. There’s no word yet on when the number will be released, but it will most likely be a fan channel version and hopefully we can all be able to pre-order the number soon. We’ll keep you posted when more details are revealed.

Other big revelations included The Latest Classified Wave as well as peeks at upcoming Classified Retro Card characters (Storm Shadow and Zartan) and Resolute-themed Snake Eyes and Timber. This is the 40th anniversary of GI Joe Real American Hero and Hasbro will be holding a Yo Joe event later this year, so expect more revelations sooner rather than later.
