However, in the new episode of the series on Tuesday night, another face known to join the fun appears, this one from the world of professional wrestling. CM Punk, one of the biggest stars of All Elite Wrestling (and former WWE Champion), surprised fans with his appearance on Mayan MC Halfway through the fourth episode.
A Crow Flew By deals a lot with the inner turmoil of the Mayans club, as well as the brewing war with the Sons of Anarchy, but this season has paid special attention to the individual journeys of its characters and this episode continues in that direction. Digging into my generation’s past (Vincent Vargas). At one point, Gilly walks out into a neighborhood we’ve never seen before and knocks on the door of the house, only for CM Punk to answer.

It turns out that Punk plays a character named Paul, who served with Gilly in the military. It’s Paul’s son’s birthday party, and Gilly appears to celebrate with his old unit. Gilly, Paul, and their other seasoned buddies joke around with each other at a barbecue in Paul’s backyard. Paul’s wife was also part of the unit, serving as a commanding officer.
This part of my generation’s story looks at the trauma veterans deal with after returning home, and how their bonds continue to help each other through difficult times. Without giving away too much, Gilly is able to support Paul in a way no one else can, revealing a lot about his personality in the process. We also get a glimpse of what drove my generation toward the Maya in the first place.
There’s a lot to unpack about this particular part of Gilly’s past, and it wouldn’t be surprising if we see Paul again in an upcoming episode. However, there has been no confirmation yet on whether or not Punk will return Mayan MC any time this season.
While he is best known as a wrestler, Punk (real name Phil Brooks) has been doing his fair share of acting for the past few years.
