Fans on social media were fooled by a photoshopped image of Harry Styles falling down the stairs at the 2022 Met Gala.
The 2022 Met Gala was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on Monday under this year’s theme, “Gilded Glamor,” which encompasses New York’s Gilded Age from 1870 to 1890.
The star-studded fashion event was attended by the likes of Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Kim Kardashian, Cardi B, Gigi Hadid and others.

To be clear, Harry Styles didn’t fall down the stairs at the 2022 Met Gala. The singer and actor was not even present at the fashion event and a photo was taken of him.

The image posted on Twitter is the popular “Jason Derulo meme” that shows a person falling down the stairs during a public appearance.
It seems that the fake photo started trending on the internet right after the Met Gala and deceived quite a few social media users.

Another person shared their frustration and commented: “The only thing I hate about the Met Gala is that people are going to repost that picture of Jason Derulo falling from the stairs into oblivion. But this year with an even worse twist: edits to that picture with Harry Styles upside down.”
What really happened?
The real photo is not even from the Met Gala. The viral photo dates back to 2011 when the actual incident took place at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
During the event, an unnamed man tried to destroy the festival before it was shown in honor of actor Jean-Paul Belmondo and BeaverAnd NEWSWEEK I mentioned at the time.
Security tried to catch the person when he fell down the stairs, while paparazzi captured the moment and spread it widely on social media.
Since this incident, the photo has been used to Photoshop a celebrity in it and claim that they had an accident at the Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globes, etc.
