Since the show was announced, the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series has been thrust into the calendars of Star Wars fans around the world.

As its release is getting closer than ever, more and more details are emerging and on May 4, the second trailer for the series has finally been released online.

But what do we know about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series and how many episodes will the show have in total?

Obi-Wan Kenobi: Release Date & Plot Preview

Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives at Disney+ on Friday, May 27, 2022.

The series captures the story of the titular Jedi 10 years after the purge of the Jedi and the rise of the Empire to power in Revenge of the Sith.

Hiding in Tatooine, Kenobi vows to keep young Luke Skywalker safe, but when the Empire’s influence threatens to reach the distant planet, Obi-Wan is dragged back into action.

With the Imperial Inquisition on the hunt for the Jedi, there’s never been a more perilous time for Obi-Wan but adventure calls as the Jedi embarks on an exciting adventure stretching across the galaxy.

How many episodes are in Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Obi-Wan Kenobi will present a total of six episodes.

Compared to other Disney+ live-action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian And boba fett bookThis makes the Obi-Wan Kenobi the shortest entry to date.

However, to make up for its shorter length, Star Wars fans can look forward to watching the first two seasons in one go, with Episodes 1 and 2 releasing on May 27.

After that, the remaining four episodes will air every Wednesday, releasing every week until Episode 6 arrives on June 22.

Will there be season 2?

Unfortunately for fans of Ewan McGregor, Obi-Wan Kenobi has been described as a limited mini-series.

This means that the show’s story will only be told during one season and you likely won’t be returning for a second season.

However, there is still a lot of Star Wars content trending this year.

After the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, 2022 will see the arrival of Andor The series as well as season 2 of bad batch And The Mandalorian season 3.

Few details have been teased about these new and returning shows so far, but more updates are expected to be revealed at Star Wars Celebration 2022 that takes place in Anaheim, California between May 26-29.
