The Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus takes us back to a galaxy far, far away, so soon. The show will start at the end of May with two episodes. The new Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer sparks a return to the light side and the dark side. Ewan McGregor returns as the Jedi Master as does Hayden Christensen as his former disciple.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi show has been in the works at Disney Plus for years from writer/director Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian. McGregor has been involved from the start, but Christensen’s return came as a huge surprise when it was announced at Disney’s Investor Day in December 2021.
Christensen was an unknown rising actor when George Lucas was cast in previous Star Wars films. He first played Anakin Skywalker in Episode Two: Attack of the Clones, then transformed into Darth Vader after a brutal fight with Obi-Wan at the end of Revenge of the Sith.
“It was an incredible journey playing Anakin Skywalker,” Christensen said. Declaration. “Of course, Anakin and Obi-Wan weren’t in the best of terms when we last saw them… It will be interesting to see what an amazing director like Deborah Chow has in store for all of us. I’m excited to work with Ewan again. It feels good to be back.” .
In the Disney Plus Day teaser we got a bunch of art designs and interviews, but the most exciting thing is that Hayden Christianen isn’t just back as Anakin Skywalker. He will wear Darth Vader’s armor and compete with Obi-Wan.
Here’s everything we know so far about the Obi-Wan Kenobi series (something we’ll watch after we’ve finished rewatching the Star Wars movies in order; in fact, we’ve got a full list of what to watch before Obi- Wan Kenobi starts on Disney Plus).
