moon knight It premiered in the season finale earlier today and the post-credit scene opened some interesting doors to the series’ future. During the post-credit scene, we got to know a major character from the comics and it turns out that the entire season has been alluding to him from the start. In a new interview with Marvel.comWriter Jeremy Slater and director Justin Benson revealed how they touched the character during each episode.

“We’ve known from the start that fans will be looking for clues and clues that Jake Lockley will appear on the show,” Slater told Marvel. “It was really just a balancing act that certainly involved my team of writers, but it also included directors and CEOs, and ultimately, right down to Kevin Feige, in terms of how many crumbs we give up? Is that pathological Are we revealing Are we over-telegraphing? Or are we Not enough telegraph?
It turns out that directors Mohamed Diab, Aaron Moorhead and Benson, and cinematographer Gregory Middleton all worked together to drop breadcrumbs to serve up Jake Lockley. It was a moment in the first episode where Mark Spector can be seen looking into a three-sided mirror and the third reflection is barely there. This continues throughout the series where in episode four, after Mark retrieves Stephen Grant from the sarcophagus, there is another sarcophagus that is supposed to be Jake Lockley. Benson reiterates that they were intentionally sowing the seeds for the arrival of the third characters.
“We were deliberately planting the seed,” Benson explains. “You’re trying to ride that line of being like, ambiguous, which might not mean much to people who don’t know moon knight Canon super well. But when you see the coffin, there is movement and sound coming from it which may sound like something supernatural or demonic. While trying to ride that line as well, he would literally not be a creature of falling. It will be someone later. But trying to make him feel dangerous; Just a moment, a feeling that something very serious is going on.”
