AEW has officially confirmed that the men’s team will be in the Owen Hart Cup this week AEW Dynamite After Jeff Hardy and Ray Phoenix both qualified for the competition. The eight-player tournament will consist of Darby Allen, Hardy, Samoa Joe, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, Dax Harwood and Phoenix, all of whom had to win qualifying matches in order to participate. The last entrant, a surprise wildcard “Joker,” will face Joe in the opening round.
The finals for both tournaments will be held in double or nothing Pay per view May 29th in Las Vegas. Sponsored by the Owen Hart Foundation, each winner will receive an award called “Owen” in honor of the late wrestling legend Owen Hart. It was later confirmed that the first two matches of the group – Allen vs. Hardy and Cole vs. Harwood – would take place on Dynamite next week.
