The Punisher is about to find himself at odds with a former member of The Avengers with divine ties. Frank Castle cuts a deal with The Hand, a sinister organization of assassins who usually find themselves at odds with the likes of Daredevil and Elektra. Recruiting The Hand Punisher to be the fist of the Beast, she leads her army into war after war. New Marvel the punisher A series by writer Jason Aaron and artists Jesus Seas and Paul Azacita finds Frank’s castle already embedded within the hand, leading to a raid on a new group of arms dealers called Messengers of War. Revealing the faction leader in Punisher #2 will have major repercussions for the larger Marvel Universe.

the back half of the punisher #2 He finds heroes on his throne as the hand brought him an agent of war messengers. The man comes with a gift as a peace offering: a Banner cannon, powerful enough to replicate the strength of the Hulk. The Messenger of War claims that the Punisher knows the name of their leader, and every night he prays for the war. Clues to the war messenger leader were scattered in this exchange, each time the word “war” was used. Also, one only has to look at the headdress that the war messengers carry on their heads as another powerful indicator. Of course, the Punisher brutally outsmarts the Messenger, but he does not learn who is ordering them. It is only when we reach the end of the case that we discover that Ares, the former god of war and powerful avenger, is leading the Messengers of War.
Ares was a member of the Iron Man Mighty Avengers team that grew out of the original Civil War superhero. While the New Avengers are not registered, Mighty Avengers were subject to government sanctions and part of the 50 State Initiative, which operates out of New York. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Aristobot in 1966 ox #129. Usually depicted as a villain, fighting the likes of Hercules and Thor. However, he did spend some time as a hero initially in the movie Mighty Avengers, and then in Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers. Ares met a sudden death at Siege Limited Series when Sentry ripped him in half. Marvel’s “all-new and totally different” era saw the revival of Ares in 2015 Champions Contest.
Jason Aaron has quipped that Punisher has spoken firmly in the Marvel Universe, hinting that other heroes will start responding to Punisher’s membership in The Hand. With Ares now serving as the “Big Bad” series, there are a number of potential guest stars who could play.
