Why is Alex Albon racing red-haired Williams in the 2022 F1 season? When did the trend start and why does it continue?
After losing his seat at Red Bull at the end of 2020, Alex Albon was forced to leave the entire 2021 season.
Aside from a few test drives in the RB16B, Albon did not drive in F1 2021.
However, after the musical chairs of Kimi Raikkonen’s retirement, Valtteri Bottas went to Alfa Romeo, George Russell to Mercedes, and opened a seat for Albon at Williams, replacing his good friend Russell.
As of the Miami Grand Prix, Albon has outpaced teammate Nicholas Latifi, scoring twice for Williams with a pair of P10s in Australia and Miami.
Alex Albon also wears red hair when he starts rebuilding Williams alongside Latifi, but that’s just how it is.

Before the Australian Grand Prix in April, Albon spent some time visiting an orphanage in his native Thailand.
While he was there, he let the kids dye his black hair red.
He arrived in Melbourne still sporty looking, and put in an excellent race to drive a P10.
Albon sponsored a set of hard tires 57 laps, and didn’t swing it until the last round of the race.
This strategy allowed him to score his first point of the season for Williams.
Albon continues this trend
After returning to his natural hair for Imola, Alex Albon once again wore a red hair style on F1’s first visit to Miami.
The London-born Thai decided to try again as a measure, fortunately.
He appears to be working at the Miami International Autodrome as Albon led Williams to another point in P10.
Albon and his red-haired were in luck, with a late collision between Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher promoting the arrangement.
