Marvel comic artist Adi Granov “Mood Piece” shared that inspiring series

Long before Marvel Studios’ visual development department got any solid builds for moon knightIdea House went to familiar artists to collect some inspirational pieces. One such artist is Adi Granov, known for his epic cover paintings and his work on various Iron Man Caricature. On Wednesday, Granov shared the Moon Knight piece that Marvel ordered him and it’s an absolute treat.

“As I mentioned earlier, I worked on Moon Knight at the beginning of 2020,” Granov wrote on his Instagram account. “I was asked to make some mood pieces to spark production. This was done initially, before the character was designed, so it’s mostly inspired by the look of his comic book.” In this piece, Moon Knight can be seen in an all-white outfit as he fights various mythical characters, such as mummies and jackals. See the piece for yourself below.

Jackals and mummies make perfect sense, because moon knight Writer Jeremy Slater previously said that Egyptology has been the focus of his team from the start.

“Since the first week, Marvel has provided us with a large amount of reference material on Egyptology and the ancient Egyptian gods and goddesses,” he continues. “One of those items was a laminate poster that had like a little kid on it, cartoons of all the different gods — Tawert was one of those gods. I spent the whole first week in our book room, just staring at it. Then finally, at some point, I just couldn’t stand it. More… I interrupted everything we were talking about and said, “Guys, we have something more important, which is, how do I get this hippo into the show?” “”
