Jake Lockley was present from Confirmed Episode 1

moon knight It centers around Mark Spector and Stephen Grant’s body-sharing during his first six episodes of Disney+. However, several sequences indicated that neither of them remembered certain events or took responsibility for certain actions. Moments like this suggest the presence of a third character, and a theory was proven correct in a post-credits scene when Jake Lockley revealed he’s body-controlled. Moon Knight Grant Curtis executive producer joined the Phase Zero podcast on ComicBook.com where he confirmed that Jake Lockley has been on the show since the first episode.

“Well, I don’t want to change anyone’s experience on the show because I know there are a lot of theories,” Curtis said. “But I’ll say this: You guys are smart. We have the best fans in the world. Jake’s appearance in Episode VI at the end wasn’t the first time Jake had appeared in our novel, and I’m going to let people take that for whatever it means. But that wasn’t his introduction. He was on the show from the first episode.”

Many fans assumed Jake’s presence in Episode 1 was asking Steven’s gift shop co-worker on a date. It’s not clear if Curtis was teasing Jake Lockley because he was actually present in the episode, though it’s also possible that he was driving the cupcake truck later in the series as Stephen found himself running from Arthur Harrow’s henchman.

Jake Lockley, like his comic book counterpart, appeared on the series as a driver. However, in the comics, he became famous as a taxi driver while the Marvel Cinematic Universe showed him driving around in a luxury Rolls Royce. Considering Stephen Grant of the MCU isn’t a billionaire filmmaker like the comic, who paid for that car? “It’s a great question,” Curtis said. “It’s a great question for the future of the MCU. Hey, I want to be a fly on the wall of those Rolls as they roll away wherever they go. I’m in it. I got my money.”

Curtis is quick to give credit for the success moon knight Written by Jeremy Slater and lead actor Oscar Isaac. The team created an adaptation of the comics that Curtis, who is a huge fan of those books, enjoyed. “I loved the movie Moon Knight that he started with Mark Spector,” Curtis said. “And so it was a little different for me while reviewing the lens at first for Stephen Grant. But, man, he was in a clever narrative choice on his end. Then Oscar took it up. I mean, Oscar loved playing Stephen Grant. I heard it in interviews. I mean, He loved Mark Spector too, and he obviously loved Jake Lockley. But it was Stephen Grant who fell in love with him first, and that’s on screen. And that was really what sparked it.”
