Tom Brady just signed the biggest contract in the history of sports broadcasting… and he hasn’t retired yet!

Tom Brady doesn’t seem to force himself to hang up his cleats and ride until sunset. Maybe he’s worried he has nothing to do? Maybe he’s worried he won’t be on TV every week? Or maybe he just enjoys making tens of millions of dollars a year.

Whatever the reason, the concept of retirement has become much easier to understand for Tom Brady. And I’m happy for him. That guy needed to win.

According to the New York Post Great sports writer Andrew Marchand, who deserves a Pulitzer for his recent coverage of mega broadcast contracts, whenever Tom finally retires he will teleport directly to the Fox Sports broadcast booth.

Marchand’s sources reported that Brady has signed a 10-year deal with Fox Sports. It is the largest contract in sports broadcasting history. Total value of Brady’s new contract in dollars?

375 million dollars

At $37.5 million a year, when he enters the broadcast booth, Tom will make twice as much as former quarterbacks Tony Romo and Troy Ekman, both of whom have recently signed deals that will pay out $18 million a year starting next season. In February, Troy Aikman signed a five-year, $90 million deal with ESPN and a few weeks later, Tony Romo signed a $180 million 10-year deal with CBS.

Tom Brady’s Final Career Earnings

Prior to signing this Fox Sports deal, Tom Brady’s career earnings (endorsement and salary) were approximately $420 million. For your information, during the same period, his wife, model Gisele Bundchen earned $650 million.

Tom will earn another $40 million in salary and endorsements if he continues with his plan to play an extra season for Tampa Bay next year. This will bring his total career earnings at the moment of retirement to $460 million.

Let’s say Tom continues to make $20 million a year in endorsements and investments over the next 10 years outside of the Fox deal. This will add $200 million to his career total earnings. When you add a $375 million contract with Fox Sports, by 2034 Tom Brady’s career earnings will be even higher…

$1.035 billion

That should be enough for Tom to finally beat Gisele in terms of net worth 🙂
