Long before Moon Knight found himself as one of the leading heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he found himself rooting for memes in abundance. There is one where the guard can be seen tossing all kinds of random weapons toward a threat off the board, shouting “Random nonsense!” Then there’s one where Dracula, the “big nerd,” shakes the fist in hopes of making some money.
moon knight Writer Jeremy Slater tells us he awfully tried to get a last minute nod in the series, but Disney+ didn’t have the f-bomb.
“I tried really hard. The problem is you can’t say f-ck on Disney+. And so you either have to do a really awkward whistle where something breaks right when they say it,” Slater tells us. “But I also felt like it kind of made him recreate any part of that meme, but not do the part that people liked so much, which is kind of inappropriate swearing. It was kind of highlighting the fact that we couldn’t damn it.”
Those hoping to see the memes come to life in a live action series, don’t worry. Slater believed that where there is a will, there is a way.
“I still think there are ways to get some of these memes in there,” the book said. “I’ve also said in the log that I’d like to see Mood Knight go after Dracula at some point. Blade may have put this area to a halt, no pun intended, but look, if Moon Knight walks after Dracula, I can assure you that someone He’s going to work on that meme right there somewhere.”
