The new Xbox Series X exclusive apparently leaked ahead of E3 reveal

It looks like the exclusive new Xbox Series X console has leaked ahead of what’s supposed to be the E3 reveal. While PlayStation has started porting its games to PC, it’s not really investing in the PC gaming space. And Nintendo certainly isn’t. Xbox though. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that Xbox is apparently funding a new 4x strategy game from its creator civilization. If this project sounds familiar, it’s because rumors circulate about it under the name “Project Indus”. According to these rumors, Oxide Games is working on the game, which brings us to today.

Oxide Games’ new job listing conveys word that it’s working with a first-party publisher on its new game. What a first-party publisher is, the job listing doesn’t say, but specifically states that applicants must have Xbox Live SDK/GDK development experience. It didn’t say anything equivalent to PlayStation or Nintendo.

The job posting reads, “Oxide Games is working on a new AAA IP game with a first-party publisher, and we’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join us.” “You will work collaboratively with the team to build an infrastructure that supports many aspects of a rich presence, matchmaking, and communication. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and enjoys working on the latest engine technology.”

There’s nothing in the job listing to suggest the game will be revealed at E3, but that’s what previous rumors about the project have claimed. All that said, take this with a grain of salt. The dots are starting to connect, but nothing here is official. In the meantime, for more Xbox coverage – including the latest on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass – click here.
