This past week has been a tough one for TV fans with several networks announcing the cancellations of several series, but for fans of The CW, it’s been an especially tough time. On Thursday, the network announced the cancellation of six series, including: Roswell, New MexicoAnd legacies. In case legacieswas the third series in The Vampire Diaries universe and its end means the end of the network’s 13-year franchise. But while the cancellations have been difficult for fans to process, Julie Blake serves as executive producer on both legacies And Roswell, New Mexico They gave fans a little silver lining. According to Plec, both series’ season finales are already set to work in case their series isn’t renewed.
In a further comment on a lengthy series of tweets on Twitter on Friday she began talking publicly about the cancellations, and Plec revealed that CW President Mark Pedowitz and his team had given the programs advance warning that a renewal might not be in the cards. It allowed them to create endings that would please fans rather than leaving them on cliffs or with unfinished stories.
