Ever since Koichi himself appeared talking about a possible retirement, fans have been looking at each new chapter in the Naruhata War arc as coming to an end. This is unfortunately confirmed in the latest chapter of the series as the manga will be ending soon, but it has already started with Koichi himself.
The entirety of the series saw Koichi act as a lifeguard hero without a license, and through his work he became a major local hero for his small town. But as the battles grew in size with each new arc, he couldn’t hide himself anymore. This was the case with the fight with Number Six, but it was mocked in the final chapter that he would join Captain Celebrity as a buddy and become an official hero in his own right. With the final chapter, it has been confirmed that he is now being called “The Skycrawler” as a professional hero operating in New York City.
Chapter 125, from the second to the last chapter of My Hero Academia: Guardians, asserts that a few months have passed since the fight with Number Six and that the fallout has changed Naruhata herself quite a bit. The old Koichi building is demolished, Kazuho Haneyama has been rehabilitated to regain her physical abilities, and it is clear that Koichi feels like himself. But Koiichi’s own intrusion in the final moments of the class reveals that he was working in New York City at the official residence of Captain Celebrity.
Here Koichi appears ready to deploy and blast off from the rooftop, referred to as “CCC-02 The Skycrawler” as he does. Not only does this title reveal that his official hero’s name is now “Skycrawler” to reflect the new flying abilities he gained during the fight of Number Six, but also the codename teases him being one of Captain Celebrity’s top side characters and a powerful hero in the American system in his own right.
