WWE Hall of Famer ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan Confirms He’s Fighting Cancer Again

“Hacksaw” Jim Duggan revealed back in October that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer, forcing the 68-year-old to undergo surgery. He was declared cancer-free in December, but he announced on Sunday that he will need to undergo cancer treatment again within the next eight weeks, noting that doctors caught it early and are optimistic he will beat it again.

“Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed the photos and videos of our travels. We had a great time. But the truth is here and I’m afraid I have some bad news. It seems my cancer treatment isn’t over yet even after my prostate removal last October. Tomorrow, I’ll get a dose second hormonal, and on Tuesday, I will be ready for the radiotherapy, which will be eight weeks, five days a week,” Duggan said (h/t fight).

“Doctors are very optimistic because they found it early,” he added. “But even so, it is a very terrifying time for me and my family. The doctors also said to go ahead and live life, which we will do. I will do most of the shows, but some of the shows, I will have to postpone or cancel and I am sorry for that, but that is what it has to be. I will be posting this entire ordeal while she agrees So tomorrow on the way to the doctor to get the hormone injections I will post that after the shots I will post through the whole experience I hope it helps someone out there because I know a lot of guys, a lot of families, going through this I know it will help me You people have helped me through a lot of terrible things over the years many times before and sharing this with you will help me get through this So thank you and please don’t feel sorry for me Be thankful that they picked it up so early Thoughts And prayers are very welcome and remember, I’m going to get through this. Thank you very much people.”

Duggan debuted in 1979 and has participated in Mid-South Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and WCW along with three separate assignments with WWE. His biggest in-ring achievements include winning his first Royal Rumble match in 1988, the WCW’s TV Championship and the United States Championship and his entry into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
