Former One Direction star Harry Styles will be getting his third solo album, Harry’s House, which hit the streaming services in a few days on May 20. Reviews of the record have already been published, with many outlets praising his creativity and candor. Concurrent with its release, Harry himself spoke in detail about his new music.

But the 28-year-old couldn’t discuss his new paths without touching his roots.

Harry was drafted into One Direction back in 2010 after appearing on the talent show X Factor. The band split up after six years in 2016, just one year after Zayn Malik left the band.

Harry has recently looked back on his time in the band and has often praised his bandmates. He said, “Look at people who have kind of been through a version of what we’ve been through, but on their own. I love… I can’t imagine doing that, really. I feel really fortunate that both of you have always been in this loneliness that I felt you could Keep each other in check and you can have someone else understand it.”

Harry was speaking to Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, where he touched on how difficult it is to deal with the band’s fame.

He continued, “It’s impossible not – sometimes I think everyone who has this – feels like, ‘Oh, everyone is on the other side of the glass and I’m on this side of the glass, and nobody really gets it.'” And I think having that [support] Kind of invaluable.”

He then gave his fans some much-needed hope about the continued relationship sharing between the One Direction members.

However, it’s not all bad news considering how passionate Harry is about his new record. He described the album as a “day in the life” of being on Harry’s mind.

Harry said, “I think it’s obviously more electronic in a lot of places than anything I’ve made, it’s also more intimate to me. And made more intimate. And I think the same, back to what we said at the beginning, ‘You don’t have to worry about me.'” It was like, ‘I’m going to play at my house and you can come and visit 100 percent, but I’m doing it because that’s what I want to listen to.'”

He added with a smile: “This is my favorite album right now, and I love it very much.”
