The Best Booths at Frieza New York 2022 – ARTnews.com

On a sunny spring Wednesday, the 2022 edition of Frieze New York VIP opens at 11 a.m. at the Shed in Hudson Yards. This iteration of Frieze feels a little tighter than previous New York editions—there are only 66 models, versus the roughly 200 that were shown at the show when he was on Randall’s Island. However, even with fewer galleries, the gallery feels more claustrophobic.

At the opening of the VIP, dealers reported strong sales. Wandering the aisles were some of the world’s best collectors, including Pamela Joyner, Pete Rodin Dewdy, Patricia Sandrito Rei Rebodingo, Don and Mira Rubelle, Jill Krause, Bob Fischer, Bob Rainey, and museum directors Thelma Golden (Studio Museum in Harlem.) and Michael Govan (Los Angeles County Museum of Art), Anne Pasternak (Brooklyn Museum), and Max Howlin (Metropolitan Museum of Art).

Below, a look at some of the best artworks on display in the gallery.
