A feature called Voice Control on iPhone makes using TikTok and other apps easier. Well, I know using TikTok is hard to get started with, but if there is a way to put less effort into something, no matter how small the margin is, this is the way I want it.
Voice control is actually an accessibility feature, designed to make using the iPhone easier for those who might have difficulty with physical gestures. It allows controlling your iPhone with your voice.
If this sounds similar to saying, for example, “Hey, Siri…” then it is. But there’s a difference: When you say “Hey, Siri…”, you’re asking the virtual assistant to make your phone do something for you. With voice control, you don’t need to call Siri and you can simply speak commands that your iPhone will follow. These can be pre-made commands or your own custom commands, which we’ll show you how to make here.
You can use voice control for a wide range of gestures, including swipe, zoom, drag and drop, text editing, and swipe. If you want to use a word that your iPhone doesn’t recognize, there is a way to add vocabulary to help your iPhone learn. It’s an incredibly powerful tool for those who need help with their phone (or who are a bit lazy like me) and once again shows why the iPhone really is one of the best phones out there.
Here, we’ll show you how to set up a basic swipe command with Next and make it clear to use with TikTok, but the same steps should be applied to other apps and gestures. very.
How to turn on Voice Control on iPhone
1. Go to SettingsThen Move the mouse down And Click Accessibility. from there, Locate and click Voice Control.
2. Tap on Voice Control Setting (Or, if you’ve already set it up, Press the switch button to operate the voice control). Click Continue On the next screen, then Click Done in the final setup screen.
3. Go back to the voice control menu, Click Customize CommandsThen Click Create New Order. In the list of new commands, you first need to set the word (or command) that your iPhone will use to perform a function. Here, we want to program the phone to swipe up on TikTok and go to the next video when we say “next”. Click on the command And type “next”.
4. Now we need to set what action the phone will do once it hears the Next command. Click Actionthen choose Turn on custom gesture. On the next screen, swipe with your finger to Draw an upward gesture (This doesn’t have to be perfect, as you can see from my wonky streak.)
5. You will now be taken back to the new commands menu, where you can Select the app. Here, we are using TikTok, which means that this command will only apply to this app. Alternatively, you can Leave the app set to anymaking it a global leadership.
6. Now that the command is set up, Return to the voice control menu And choose whether you want the voice control to always listen, or only to hear your voice when you look at the screen. to set the latter, Toggle Screen Awareness to the operating position.
7. right Now, Open TikTok. You should notice a blue icon at the top left to show you that your iPhone is listening for commands. When you normally swipe over a video to move to the next video, instead of simply say “next”. A gray box will appear above the center with the command you just used, and your phone will move to the next video.

8. Your iPhone should understand most keywords and be able to use them for commands. However, if you need to expand the vocabulary of your iPhone Go to the voice control menuThen Click on Vocabulary. Click on the plus icon In the upper right, then Enter the word Want to learn your phone and Click Save.
And there you have it. You can now control your iPhone through voice commands using Voice Control. You don’t just need to use this for TikTok either, and it will work for pretty much any app that requires actual scrolling. I’m not naming any apps by name here, but I think dating just got easier (and maybe grittier) too.
