Model Eric Wallace teases planting seeds on the darkest night

One of the main stories in Season 8 of Sparkle It was the team’s battle with the Deathstorm, which saw Team Flash discover that Ronnie Raymond (Ruby Amell) had apparently come back and was feeding people’s grief like a black flame. It turns out that this isn’t quite the truth – while the team managed to revive Ronnie, it wasn’t quite their friend and instead was the horrific entity, Deathstorm – but the story had many fans who hoped the series was using the story for action. At a major event at DC Comics, darkest night. That wasn’t quite the case, but fans might not want to give up all hope that the Arrowverse will take over the famous story. Showrunner Eric Wallace says he’s trying to make it there, and if nothing else, he’s planting the seeds until they finally bear fruit.

talk with ComicBook.comWallace says that there are many Arrowverse stories to tell, and that he would like to darkest night Being one of them, in part because he’s also a fan.

“Who said this story is over?” Wallace said. “All I can tell you is that there are more Flash and Arrowverse stories to tell.” “I don’t know if you were aware of this, but I actually wrote a darkest night story. I wrote Shazam force 48. This is where the Black Lantern of Osiris and all that good stuff returns. There’s a reason I’m talking about Blackest Night that I’m trying to achieve. Now, I don’t know if I’ll be able to, because that would require a full crossover and millions of dollars more than our show. However, you have to start somewhere. And remember, I’m a fan first. I love Blackest Night, so for me, I hope to open the door we will eventually go through. I know we have a ninth season and there’s some kind of plan in place, but maybe we’re still in the COVID protocols, which means no crossovers, which means we can’t make a big story like Blackest Night. But I can certainly plant the seed and try to make it there, because I want to see it too.”

Given that most of the Arrowverse has ended, it will be interesting to see how to do it Sparkle Blackest Night will take place, but Wallace also said the story has already played a major tonal effect for Season 8 and more horror leanings.

“I consider close blackT, the comic book story, to be in my opinion a horror comic book story with superheroes. This is the perfect place for me… This is my beautiful place. Wallace said, “That’s cool.” And I knew this was going to be a season of horror, a season of even more horror because I wanted to put Team Flash in the best competition, and I felt that horror was the best way to do that.”

Sparkle It airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.
