Next month, Jurassic World Dominion will appear on the big screen and continue the journey of Owen Grady and escaped dinosaurs in mainland America. But the most exciting part of the upcoming movie is the return of the original three characters from the first Jurassic Park trilogy.
Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles in the upcoming movie — but Dern now has some ideas about her character 20 years after the original movie.
In Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park Dern, she played Dr. Eli Sattler, a paleontologist who worked closely with Dr. Alan Grant (Neal). The two characters were romantically involved, and in the third movie in the series – Jurassic Park 3 – they also had a child together.
But looking at their relationship today in 2022, Dern realized it wasn’t quite the right fit. In a new interview, she said she “felt perfectly appropriate to fall in love with Sam Neill” at the time.
Dern, who was only 23 at the time of filming Jurassic Park, had an on-screen relationship with 44-year-old Neil.
“It was just now,” she continued. “When we came back in a moment of cultural awareness about patriarchy, I was, like, ‘Wow! We are not the same age? (via the Sunday Times)
Neil has also now noticed the astonishing 21-year age difference. He noted that Dern was of a “delicate age” when she filmed the Oscar-winning film.

However, Neil noted that at the time, it didn’t seem to be a problem.
He said, “I am twenty years older than Laura! That was at the time a perfectly adequate age difference for a leading man and woman.”
The actor also remembered the moment when it became clear to him that something was out of the dynamic between the two characters. “It never occurred to me until I opened a magazine and there was an article called ‘Old Men and Girls,'” said the 74-year-old. People like Harrison Ford and Sean Connery act out younger people.”

Neil was left in disbelief that he was involved in this article. And he added, “And here I am on the list. I thought: Come on. It can’t be right.”
Although the two characters are particularly problematic today, it seems that the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchises have learned from their mistakes.
New superhero couple, Owen Grady and Claire Dering, play Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, respectively.
Pratt is 42 years old at the moment, while Howard is 41, which means that there is a much smaller age gap between them. But perhaps the older member of the series, the famous T-Rex, will be killed in the upcoming movie.
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow recently discussed the fate of the amazing monster. He said, “We all have true love [Rexy] Like a real character. So it’s been important to me throughout these films to take her on a journey and really hope that she makes the audience want her to find peace. We want her to find a home.
