Guest stars in “History” Part 2

Since it first aired in 1996, Silent Witness has grown into one of the longest-running television shows in the world and over the course of its 25 series, we’ve seen countless characters come and go.

To celebrate the drama’s historic anniversary, Silent Witness brings back an original cast member whose request for help from Lyell’s cast could completely upend the apple cart.

As always in Silent Witness, the second episode of Season 25 welcomes back the familiar faces of the main cast while also introducing viewers to a host of main guest stars.

Silent Witness Season 25, Episodes 1 & 2: Release Date & Plot Preview

The second episode of the 25th series of Silent Witness will be shown on BBC One at 9pm on Tuesday 24 May 2022.

Unlike previous series, which were divided into two-episode stories, all six seasons of the new installment are part of one sprawling storyline titled Date.

After the events of Episode 1 and the attack on Sam’s health passport release, Nikki and team Lyell face a case unlike anything they’ve seen so far.

DNA evidence linked to the assassination of the Minister of Health forces Nikki to confront her past in a tense meeting with newcomer Tom Faulkner.

As her investigation progresses, Nikki realizes its consequences will forever affect her and her career as the DNA evidence used by Lyle’s team is brought into question.

Amanda Burton as Professor Sam Ryan

The new lead actress on series 25 of Silent Witness has arrived Amanda Burton who reprises the role of Professor Sam Ryan who held her role in the crime drama between 1996 and 2004.

In addition to her work as one of Lyell’s early recruits, Amanda Burton has appeared in nearly 40 roles during her career with notable appearances in Marcella, White House Farm, Waterloo Road, The Level and 2021 Anne Bolin a series.

Hugh Quarshi as Jomo Mashaba

Hugh Quarshie is another familiar face as he takes on the role of Jomo Mashaba, Sam’s husband and partner in the Health Passport System.

Hugh’s acting career dates back to the 1970s while fans will know the actor better from his roles in them Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Holby City, Absentia, Red Sparrow And Highlander.

Matthew Gravel as Tom Faulkner

The mysterious Tom Faulkner is introduced at the end of Episode 1 where he and Nikki meet face to face.
