Love Island UK 2022 start date Speculation and rumors
When does Love Island UK 2022 start is the question everyone is asking, but unfortunately we can’t fully answer it yet. The show’s announcer, ITV, has yet to confirm when exactly Love Island will return to television screens this year.
However, we can make an informed guess. The show started last year on June 28, but that came later than usual due to the pandemic. We expect this year’s Love Island UK series to start in early June 2022.
A new report indicates that this speculation is heading in the right direction. The Sun claims that the show will start on Monday, June 6 woman (Opens in a new tab)A Love Island insider was quoted as saying, “Schedules are now being put together and fans can expect a long, hot summer of fun from the villa from June 6th, promotional filming will begin in the next two weeks and the announcements will begin in May.”
Traditionally, the reality series has lasted six weeks in total, but in 2021 it extended to eight weeks. Viewers complained about Love Island’s fatigue at the end, so the producers will likely return to the six-week format for a 2022 iteration.
Although, oddly enough, the same insider quoted above also suggests that the upcoming season of Love Island will be “the longest ever,” so maybe we’re looking at a series of nine or ten weeks. Could this be too much of a good thing?
Love Island UK 2022
Love Island UK was traditionally filmed in Mallorca, Spain and it looks like the series will return to the country in 2022.
While the show has taken up temporary residence in South Africa for a winter series in 2020, ITV director Kevin Lego recently confirmed (Opens in a new tab) The next series will take place again in Mallorca.
Love Island Villa 2022
Love Island UK may be returning to the all-too-familiar Mallorca vibe, but things won’t look like they were in the previous series. This is because Love Island UK is moving into a new villa, as I mentioned independent (Opens in a new tab).
This will be the fourth villa in the gallery’s history, and the first change of setting for the Summer Series since its third launch. Since 2017, Love Island UK has filmed on a property near Sant Llorenc des Cardassar in the east of the Spanish island, but the now-popular villa won’t be available this summer.
No details have been revealed about the new villa for the show yet, but expect it to have a pool, neon signs on the wall, and plenty of areas for islanders to talk to.
UK Love Island Predictions for 2022
Honestly, Love Island UK may have passed its peak. Last year’s series wasn’t exactly the trendiest in the ratings, the series was in its prime, and yet it’s still one of the most popular reality series. Come June, it will almost certainly dominate social media, and nighttime viewing will become a must-have for millions of reality TV fans.
The basic format has grown a bit predictably, especially last year with nearly every twist from the previous series being recycled. Let’s hope the producers have some new ideas to keep things interesting. And if not, we can always count on the islanders to create a lot of drama themselves.
