We just got word about everyone’s favorite Mandalorian and his friend Grogu. There is good news and bad news. We’re on the floor at the Star Wars Celebration Lucasfilm Showcase as new details about Season 3 of The Mandalorian surfaced. The good news: We’ve been told that production has ended with the new season!
The bad news, unfortunately, is that it looks like it’s going to take interval For us to find out what the honorary bounty hunter and his petite buddy do next. That’s because Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau told attendees that Mandalorian Season 3 wouldn’t come until 2023.
Oh, and expect more from Bo-Katan (Katee Sackhoff) who will return with “unfinished business.” Attendees were shown a small teaser from the show that they were asked not to post online, so expect it to leak any minute now.
Bo-Katan, for those who don’t vividly remember the Mandalorian season two ending, described Din Djarin as a fake Mandalorian before the chaotic events of the finale. Oh, and I watched as Grogu left with Luke Skywalker and R2-D2. It looks like she might be the next threat to kidnap Baby Yoda.
Eric Goldman (Opens in a new tab) getFandom reports that The Mandalorian joke shows Darren meeting an armadillo and Poe Catan separately, and their reunion with Griff. He declares what we already know: He’s “going to Mandalore to forgive him [his] excesses. Other characters seen in the trailer include undercover Dr. Pershing, Billy Mutu, and Carson Tifa.
Other Star Wars TV news: Ahsoka, Andor, and more
Star Wars: Ahsoka starring Rosario Dawson, as we know, will also debut in 2023. For power-hungry fans who want something urgent? Andor will be released on August 31.
Director John Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) was present to confirm the news that he’s working on a show about 10-year-olds “lost in the Star Wars universe.” The series is called Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, and it stars Jude Law. But don’t think it’s a children’s show. It will take place in the same era as The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.
