Stranger Things 4 is so big ($30 million per episode) that it’s getting an entire day of virtual Netflix fan fest. Netflix’s Geeked Week 2022 is almost here to remind you of the many huge shows and movies the service is spending money on trying to stop you from canceling Netflix.
Geeked Week, for those who missed out on last year, is Netflix’s attempt to create its own ComicCon — with cast members providing tidbits and excitement from current and upcoming shows and movies.
And yes, Netflix is going to spend the fourth day of Geeked Week streaming providing us with all the weird things it can. The two parts announced for the event are “Official Showcase” for Volume 1 and “Adventure of Dungeons & Dragons”.
However, with the exception of Stranger Things Day, this year’s Netflix Geeked Week is just like last year’s, with each daily stream focusing on a different category under the Netflix umbrella. Speaking of parachutes, The Umbrella Academy and Resident Evil (where Umbrella makes life hell) are two day-one stars, leading the day focused on the obsessed Netflix original series.
Monday also includes previews for Neil Gaiman’s adaptation of The Sandman, his One Piece anime adaptation (which is hopefully better than the live-action Cowboy Bebop), and what’s coming for shows like Locke & Key, Shadow, Bone, and Sweet Tooth.
Tuesday is all about Netflix’s longer projects, and we’re not talking about Stranger Things 4’s 2.5-hour finale. Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling lead The Gray Man with the adaptation of The School of Good and Evil, which will star Sophia Wiley and Sophia Ann Caruso.
On Wednesday, Animation Day’s big project is Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, a spin-off/adapt of the disastrous buggy video game Cyberpunk 2077. Day 3 will also feature something from Love, Death & Robots, and an Arcane roster that makes us hope for a few more details on The second season of Arcane.
Finally, Netflix is bringing this Friday to gamers. The highly acclaimed Cuphead Show! Game Day titles, while Sonic Prime, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, and Tekken: Bloodline all get airtime. They will also show more than 10 Netflix games, including one based on Money Heist.
Schedule for the week 2022
Every day of the geek week—except Wednesday—begins at noon ET. Netflix is paying a Japanese audience on Wednesday for the animation, because that’s the only day JST (Japan Standard Time) has been included in the scheduling notes.

- Tuesday 7 June [Film] – 12 PM ET / 9 AM PT / 5 PM GMT
- Wednesday 8 June [Animation] – 7 PM EST / 4 PM PT / 12 AM GMT / 8 AM JST
- Thursday 9th June [Stranger Things] – 12 PM EST / 9 AM PT / 5 PM GMT

Analysis: Can Geeked Week Help Save Netflix?
Last year, Netflix Geeks Week sounded like one long message of “Please stay!” And it looks like this year will be very similar. While some of the show will focus on programming that will air soon, a lot of the presentations appear to be Netflix’s way of reminding fans of what’s going on in the future, and to encourage subscribers to keep paying and funding for these shows.
While the actors and creators will appear in the streams, Netflix shows a list of presenters you may or may not know (which may or may not reduce your involvement or interest). While you may be familiar with the likes of Ella Purnell, Felicia Day, and Geoff Keighley, you may not know other hosts like Jacob Bertrand, Megan Cruz aka jstoobs, Jaeden Martell, Reece Feldman aka guywithamoviecamera, and Juju Green aka Straw_Hat_Goofy.
