Weird things The fourth season of the first volume was recently released on Netflix and we can say that the last season was full of surprises. The first few episodes focused on the transformation of eleven from a monster to a superhero. Besides, we also found out Max’s guilt was eating her from the inside. Even worse, Vecna uses the same guilt to possess Max, causing fans to wonder if the character eventually dies at the hands of this sinister entity.
In the first episode itself, we see Vecna brutally murdering Chrissy after she reaches consciousness at the Upside Down. Later in the show, Max learns that symptoms of Vecna possession begin to appear a week before the victim dies. Well, Max has already had those symptoms, and I’ve also started seeing Vecna see her. So, it was obvious that the devil was coming for her, but fortunately, Max had the support of her friends to fight this situation.

Max’s friends help her survive against Vicna
If you are worried about Max’s fate in the final season of Weird things Don’t worry too much because she didn’t die in Volume 1. However, before her horrific experience with Vecna, Max gradually begins to accept her fate, writing letters to say goodbye to everyone she loves. In the end, she sits by Billy’s grave and reads the letter to her brother. Meanwhile, Nancy and Robin visit Victor Creel to find out exactly how he escaped possession of Vicna all those years ago.
Through their conversation with Victor, Nancy and Robin learn that music is the key to reaching someone when they are in the possession of Vecna. By this time, Max was already in the air, completely under the grip of Vecna. Apparently, this is the same scene we saw in the official season 4 trailer, which made us wonder if Max had superpowers in the final season.
In any case, the Hawkins gang doesn’t give in to Max so easily. Lucas finds Max’s favorite song and plays that song to it, which suddenly opens a path to Max’s consciousness to escape from the Vicna Lands. The demonic entity does everything in its power to stop Max, but she eventually comes out alive and well.
So, unlike other Vecna targets, Max survives the whole ordeal. In fact, Max is back to normal after this terrifying and death-defying experience.
After Billy’s death, Max always blames herself for not being able to save her brother. The constant guilt made her run away from the people she cared about, including Lucas. However, when Vecna was trying to kill her, Max thought about all the sweet moments with Eleven, Mike, Lucas and every other member of the gang. Well, this made Max realize that, in fact, she had more than enough reasons to fight for her life.
