Hunter x Hunter series creator Yoshihiro Togashi has surprised fans with the news that he’s been working on a manga comeback from the series’ longest hiatus to date, and now the creator’s latest update is increasing the yield even more with its biggest leap. In progress so far! Togashi quickly took over the internet when the creator suddenly appeared in a mysterious Twitter account that ridiculed him that he had begun work on his recent comeback with ten chapters planned sometime in the near future. Since then, fans have been caught on this account for every new update.
It’s been over four long years since then Hunter X Hunter A new chapter was recently published, so not only has the initial update surprised fans, but each new update is only heating things up even more. The latest update from Togashi’s Twitter account shares a fresh look at the completed ninth chapter of the creator’s latest collection, and that means it’s now an even more significant step forward so that it can be completed and actually released in the magazine’s pages in the immediate near future. While these updates are noteworthy, they also continue with Togashi’s previously stated intent to return to Shonen Jump magazine with ten chapters planned between each gap in the series. So, even though it’s been a while since the last actual update, it’s worth noting that the creator seems to be sticking with that plan anyway. At the same time, it’s likely that these are just initial storyboard drafts for the 10 chapters involved, and there’s likely more work to be done before the chapters are actually released.
With that being said, it’s also the biggest advancement update we’ve been getting for the series during this entire gap. Before coming to Twitter a couple of days ago, it seemed like this last hiatus would last forever, so at least now fans can feel comfortable knowing that there will be new material soon enough. Now it’s just a matter of seeing if fans will have enough time to catch the arc of the succession contest before it resumes.
