The Final Frontier is more exciting than ever, and now the Czech Gaming (CGE) edition is exploring the universe with a Star Trek-inspired board game called Starship Captains. Designed by Peter B. Hoffgaard, the new game features players sitting in the captain’s chair on your first star cruiser as you lead your crew on dangerous missions across the galaxy. You will upgrade and train your crew of cadets, ensigns, androids and officers throughout your journey, and each will have special roles and abilities, although you will also need to upgrade your ship’s engine and boost your reputation with different factions like we will.
Starship Captains is a game for 2 to 4 players and the games take about 25 minutes depending on the number of players. It will retail for $59.95, and as you can tell from the artwork below, the visuals capture the Trek vibes brilliantly. The game will launch at Essen Spiel later this year and will be released in North America in the fourth quarter of this year.
