The guards tease the future of Koichi’s pro hero in the final chapter

The official prequel manga series My Hero Academia ended after six long years, and with it the final chapter of the series showed how Koichi Haimawari will advance to the future of his official professional hero! The penultimate chapter of the episodic series ends with a promise that Koichi somehow finds himself a professional hero after all the guard work he’s been doing in the Naruhata area. But with his last fight there causing more damage than ever, it has fans wondering how the series will end everything for the young hero.

The penultimate chapter of the series had parodied that Koichi went to work with Captain Celebrity’s agency in New York City as a pro hero thanks to Makoto Tsukauch’s quick thinking, and the series’ final chapter confirmed that to be the case. In fact, due to all the debts and crimes still against him in Japan, his time in the USA was technically imposed on him. But he confronts it head-on with the same kind of positivity that his fans loved right from the start.

Chapter 126 of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes serves as the final chapter for long episodic manga in general, and with it sees Koichi (as the professional hero, “Skycrawler”) quickly saving the plane from crashing. It’s been revealed that the American people have nothing quite as good as yet thanks to their past and some of their missteps on the field, but Koichi’s account also asserts that in the year since Naruhata he has so much debt and potential lawsuits that he can really only operate outside of Japan.

He still deals a lot with his bad public image, but on a much larger scale than he did in Japan. He gets in trouble with English speakers in general, and thus gets into all kinds of new scandals, but as the class ends, he’s got New York’s version of All Might Hoodie from the supporting audience. So while the whole world still misunderstands him, the series ends with Koichi being accepted by the people who matter most. The everyday kind of person he set out to help in the first place.

what do you think? How do you feel about Koichi’s future as a professional champion? How do you feel about his journey through the series as a whole?
