In a follow-up tweet, Gunn doubled down on the idea that he never lied to fans in routine question-and-answer sessions on social media.
“I can confirm (and confirm that she’s gorgeous for the role),” Gunn wrote on Twitter Wednesday morning. “[Daniela Melchior] He is one of my favorite people and actors, and I hope this is only the second of many projects we will be working on together.”
Melchior then responded to that tweet, shocked that she was now allowed to confirm her participation in the film. “Oh my God, I am shocked by this tweet and that this secret has just been revealed,” Melchior added. “I will keep your kind words in my heart. Yes, I also assure you that I am in BABYYYYYY.”
Interestingly enough, Gunn never confirmed that Moondragon isn’t in the movie, and it wouldn’t even be Melchior playing Moondragon should the character appear like this.
“Honestly they are awesome, I love this cast and crew,” Gunn previously wrote on Twitter when asked about it. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. “But there is also a lot of almost daily sadness and tears knowing this is the last Guardians movie for most of us.” The director also responded to a fan who said it shouldn’t be the last Guardians of the Galaxy Movie. “He does with this cast,” Gan added.
