The Sims 4 Werewolves have become thanks to a new game pack called Mythical Creatures, and this week, the developers showcased more of that content in a live gameplay preview. This gameplay started with character creation menus as almost every Sims adventure does with the creators showing off what different customizations and outfits would look like when placed on werewolves of all ages and appearances. Prior to revealing this gameplay, ComicBook.com was also able to attend a Game Pack press preview to learn more about the new content.
Hosted by producer SimGuruMorgan and designer GrimSuruDoi, this broadcast showed off new gameplay across platforms like Twitch and YouTube (the latter as seen below) after some technical difficulties that briefly delayed the show’s launch. Once the characters were made, other attributes related to werewolves such as cycles of the moon and motifs associated with the creatures were discussed. The broadcast lasted just over an hour and can be seen below.
Prior to this broadcast, the same presenters went during the presentation on this game bundle with members of the press. It was said there (and now in Overview of the new game pack) that people wouldn’t have to turn into werewolves through the traditional biting and turning method if they didn’t want to. You can choose to be a werewolf from birth, for example, and you can also decide things like whether you want to stay asleep or be fully competent from the start. You can of course always go the traditional path by ordering a bite from an werewolf who is also present, gradually turning into a lycanthrope instead.
If players choose to do so, they can remain in werewolves form permanently. However, there is a possibility that the avatars will temporarily go into a “Rampage” state where players have only limited control over them. Actions such as choosing to eat or chopping off the sofa or other pieces of furniture are available to players afterwards, for example, and the Sim may do things like use the bathroom unexpectedly.
