CW’s Charm The series finished its four seasons last week, and while the series ended its own storyline, it did so with a surprising twist. The series wrapped it all up in an arc with a shocking final scene linking the series to the original CharmWhich suggests that the new Charm And both exist as part of a larger multiverse, two stories set in a larger magical world.
In the episode “The End is Never the End”, after preventing a magical apocalypse and reuniting Inara with her sisters, the series Charmed Ones Mel, Maggie and Michaela find a strange door holding a triketra. After a little thought, the three pass through the door – and on the other side is Halliwell Manor, the famous home of the Charmed Ones in the original series. Seeing no house to be found with the door open, the trio eventually entered with the doors magically closing behind them.
It was a big moment for the series and according to series executive producers Jeffrey Lieber and Joey Falco, this was really the actual Halliwell Manor, and the ending was something they had always wanted to do: Charm The multiverse.
“We wrote this episode and showed it before we knew the show was going to end,” Falco said. TVLine. “We’ve known for months that there’s a 50/50 chance of us canceling, so we wanted to finish something that could go ahead but could also have a satisfying outcome. We eventually wanted to connect these universes together. We were on our way to doing it in a bigger, crazier way at some point. , but since we knew there was a chance we could cancel, this was the sweet spot where we felt we had to do what we’d always wanted to – make it a Charm The multiverse – but also ends in a way that is hopeful and satisfying and seals everyone’s feelings.”
Lieber and Falco went on to say that if the series had moved into season five, they would have tried to bring in the cast members from the original. Charm Finished but never actually started talks of things due to the uncertainty of renovation. As for this iconic home, while the porch scene was filmed on set in Vancouver, they ended up making their way to the actual Los Angeles home that the original Charmed used to shoot outside.
