Overwatch 2 release date announced

Blizzard Entertainment today announced the release date for its multiplayer shooter game Monitor 2. The game, which will hit Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms, will arrive on October 4, 2022. And while that might be big news in and of itself, Blizzard has also confirmed that the game will move to a new, free-to-play structure.

Revealed via a new trailer featured in the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, new gameplay footage from Monitor 2 was highlighted. It has also been confirmed that a new character known as Junker Queen will be coming to the game upon release. Blizzard plans to show more of what Junker Queen has to offer in a live stream that will take place next Thursday, June 16. During this time, you’ll also touch on the title’s new free-to-play model.

“We can’t wait for the start to come out Monitor 2 opening October 4 and introducing an exciting new competitive vision, featuring stunning new content and reimagining the iconic heroes, maps and gameplay that made the original game so compelling,” Blizzard President Mike Ybarra said in a new statement today.
