Jeff Hardy was arrested on several charges, including DUI, early Monday morning in Florida. Details of the arrest have since been announced and AEW has stopped promoting the AEW World Tag Team Championship match that originally featured The Hardys against The Young Bucks and Jurassic Express. Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer then reported that WarnerMedia was asked to stop all promotions involving the former WWE Champion shortly after his arrest. AEW and Tony Khan have yet to officially comment on the situation.
Hardy was fired by WWE in late 2021 after an incident at a WWE live event in Texas where Hardy was prematurely exited from a six-man tag team match by walking through the crowd. WWE then asked Jeff to rehab but he refused, claiming he had not relapsed (his recent drug test with the company is said to have come back clean). He was released as a result and reached AEW several months later.
Per ESPN’s Mark Raimondi, Jeff Hardy’s blood alcohol test was 0.294 and 0.291. There is no coating that sugar. 3.7 times the legal limit.
