Heels have recently been discontinued for Universal Stephen King readjustment fire starter – The pun is half intended – and before it his next efforts Like a war drama Greatest drink everZac Efron has just got an excellent new project. One that you’ll combine with two unexpected words: that of the famous and influential A24 movies, and one of the most talented and troubled families in Pro Wrestling. Which surely means it will be Shake up some impressive musclesbut it may not be considered pure eye candy in this context.
A24 will be the financing and production iron claw, with Zac Efron as the first actor chosen to star in an undisclosed role. (More on that below.) Based on the true pro wrestling dynasty, the film will tell the story of the Von Erich family, a multigenerational clan of technically outstanding athletes whose inspiring rise to the Hall of Fame has been marked by a plethora of tragedies and setbacks that have wowed audiences for many years, for better or worse. for the worse. And, perhaps even worse, with regard to the fact that family traumas are often summed up as the “von Erich curse.”
The dark side of the family seems to be explored in thought-provoking ways, such as Martha Marcy May Marilyn Writer and director Sean Dworkin will act as iron clawWriter and director. Dworkin’s only effort was on the big screen at the time Disturbing 2020 Drama the nestWith Jude Law and Carrie Coon. But he also celebrated BAFTA’s win in the 2013 shooting series Southcliffe, which was directed by all four episodes. He is also directing the next horror movie dead rangersso I think we can all expect Dworkin to stay on the right track iron clawtone and focus. This wouldn’t be a popcorn summer movie, although it likely featured a lot of Zac Efron’s flexing and sweaty abs. They can’t be all of them Baywatchwhich is fine.
Von Erichs have demonstrated their talents to professional wrestling fans for over 50 years, beginning in the late 1950s with square-circle patriarch Fritz von Erich, a Texas native whose real name is Jack Adkison. His initial stunt tied him to another wrestler with no biological relationship as his ring brother Waldo von Erich, with the duo appearing in the form of German heels. (There’s nothing hidden there.) The second generation that survived long enough to reach wrestling age was Kevin, David, Keri, Mike, and Chris, with the third generation of athletes including Ross, Marshall, and Lacey. Said Waldo wasn’t the only member of the “Von Erich” family outside of the Adkisson dynasty, as Lance and Rip were also presented with different traits. (Those interested should read more Check out the book The squared circle: life, death and professional wrestling by David Shoemaker.)
Knowing this would be a darker pro wrestling tale, the kind of fodder that doesn’t often attract superstars and filmmakers, it only adds to the plot behind Zac Efron’s unspecified part in the ad. While it is not impossible for him to play Fritz of different ages, it is very likely that he would take on the role of one of Fritz’s sons. Kevin, David, and Kerry were the highlights of the group as pro wrestling gained popularity on and off television in the 1980s and 1990s.
Of course, there is a possibility that Efron will not play anyone within the family, and instead will play someone else in the wrestling world. Maybe even a non-athletic member of the Adkisson family? This sounds like a worst case scenario, but I think it depends on how Dworkin handles the storytelling. Perhaps Efron will be a journalist who will follow up with the family over time.
A 24 You will work with House Productions, which is developed iron claw Powered by Access Entertainment and BBC Film. It’s not clear when the new project will come together to start production, but fans shouldn’t expect to see Zac Efron’s professional wrestling build inside 2022 movie scheduledespite the possibility of a premiere in 2023. Who wouldn’t want to watch that as a double feature with the impending Efron Three men and a child remake?
