Why does Hayden Christensen look so old in Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Fans were thrilled to see Hayden Christensen reprise the role of Anakin in Episode 5 of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The episode heralded some welcome flashbacks to the pre-franchise era. As a result, you would expect the characters to look the same as they did at the time, while respecting the continuity of the series.

However, when watching the lights of Obi-Wan and Anakin, you can’t help but notice that Anakin looks much older than he did in the prequel films; Even in Revenge of the Sith, the scene of which depicts its events.

The answer is… Hayden he is The old and limited anti-aging technology was used; It’s clearly an artistic choice.

as such ScreenRant Highlights, CGI is used to reduce Hayden’s life from what we’ve previously seen with other performers in the franchise.

Although it might distract some, it’s best to cut back on CGI in this case because audiences are becoming more aware that they’re watching Hayden reprising the role after so long. His performance is not lost in removing aging, and enough technology is used to allow us to understand the character in his earlier age.

Given that he hasn’t returned since Revenge of the Sith for nearly two decades, it’s exciting to see him again and not be hidden under a CGI block.

How old is Hayden Christensen?

Perhaps one of the reasons for the lack of CGI in the pre-prequel era sequences stems from the fact that Hayden Christensen has aged very well.

The Canadian actor is 41 years old and still looks young for his age.

With that in mind, there wasn’t much reason to focus on de-aging for the sake of flashbacks.

As long as he looks younger than he does in the current sequence, it helps stop the disbelief and we can enjoy watching Hayden’s performance unchanged as much as possible.

“I feel like there’s more to do”

During a recent conversation with ScreenRantHayden was asked if this would be the only time he’d reprise the role of Vader or if there was more to come?

He admitted “I don’t know”. I can not answer this question. I definitely want to continue with this character, and I feel like there’s more to do. But we’ll see.”

We hope to see sooner rather than later.
