Chris Evans says he’ll be open to returning as The Fantastic Four’s Human Torch on the Marvel project. The MCU star spoke to MTV News during the promotion Light year. During their conversation, Josh Horowitz asked Evans about playing a different version of Johnny Storm at one point. Well, the former US captain thinks that would be fine. The actor said, “Oh, my God, isn’t that cool? Isn’t that cool?” in Doctor Strange in a multiverse of madnessMany fans expected to see him ignite again. But this was never to be the case. In fact, Evans made it clear that he was never approached for the role. But, if Marvel called, he actually said that returning to the Fantastic Four would be more attractive than picking his armor back up now.
The Human Torch representative said, “No, no one has come to me about it. I mean, I don’t look exactly the same anymore. That was about 15 years ago. Oh my God, I’m so old. But I really like that character, but I think… Are they doing nothing now with the Fantastic Four?”
On playing a different version though of the new Fantastic Four: “Yeah, I guess that’s right. I mean, I think all bets are off. I’m from back as Cap.” “You know what I mean? Cap is so precious to me. And you know, I almost don’t want to disrupt what a beautiful experience was like. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its foundation. So I loved that role You know, who knows.”
In a conversation with Comicbook.com’s Brandon Davis, Evans spoke about the excitement surrounding a possible return to Cap. “It seems like something people would like to see,” he began. However, he’s not entirely enthusiastic about getting back in the role despite fan requests. “I don’t want to disappoint anyone, but it’s hard to … this was a good run and I’m very happy with it,” Evans said. “It’s so precious to me. It must be perfect. It would just be scary to be bothered by something that is, again, so, very dear to me. This role means a lot to me. So, to revisit it, it will be a difficult task” .
