Everything went through a great review: a refined French drama from François Ozon | movies | entertainment

André (Andre Dusollier), a retired industrialist from Paris, is paralyzed after suffering a stroke. Without hope of a full recovery, he asks his daughter, novelist Manu (Sophie Marceau) to arrange his help in committing suicide.

Flashbacks detail their turbulent relationship, but he is closer to Manu than his other daughter, gallery worker Pascal (Geraldine Belhas), and his ex-wife Claude (Charlotte Rampling), a famous sculptor suffering from chronic depression.

In the great tradition of French cinema, each character is a wealthy intellectual.

There is still plenty of grit in the unemotional scenario that uses the issue of assisted suicide as a springboard for a compelling family drama.
