WWE SmackDown tonight is set to be a memorable one for several reasons, including the much-anticipated title defense by undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns. Reigns will face an enigma for the Undisputed World Championship in the main event on SmackDown, and while Riddle has shown himself to be a force to be reckoned with against The Bloodline, Reigns doesn’t seem anxious at all. Reigns responded to a WWE post about the match and feels the big fight is taking place, and the champ doesn’t see Riddle as a real threat.
Reigns wrote on Twitter “Tonight on #Smackdown means everything to Riddle…As he dedicates matches, I’m spending days in a totally historic era. He can’t breathe with my antenna. He can’t tie my shoes. He’s not going to take anything from me. #GODMode #TribalChief”

Reigns has not defended the WWE or the Universal Championship since their victory at WrestleMania 38 after defeating Brock Lesnar. Reigns will hold the titles on SmackDown for a while, but he hasn’t been on TV lately and hasn’t defended his titles at Hell in a Cell or WrestleMania Backlash. Recent reports indicated that prior to the switch in the positions of the money in the bank, he was supposed to face Riddle, but then those plans changed.
Reigns’ new deal allows for less appearances and travel, and according to other reports, the initial plan was to show him more Raw as well as SmackDown. With his new deal, this plan never came to fruition, resulting in titles not being defended much.
Riddle earned his title last week, and now he’s going to face Reigns on SmackDown. As for his next move, it remains to be seen, with reports suggesting Randy Orton should have been his next opponent, but he could be injured and out for the rest of the year. Then he was supposed to face Drew McIntyre in Clash at the Castle, but that could change as well.
