I’ll be honest with you guys. The movies and I have had a really tough ride the past few years. Either I failed to really get excited about so many movies that everyone seemed to be over the moon, or by the time I finally saw a trailer, any interest I had in the movie had cooled down to Ice Age levels. This has gone on for long enough that when I actually found myself, for the first time in years, I honestly like the idea of a new movie and go. in the theater for seeing it (thanks, the lost City!), the idea was very surprising to me.
Now, though, I’ve spent several weeks turning my attention to another movie: do not worry my love. This is the next entry to New movie releases It got me excited about a movie due to some very specific factors, which may affect many other movie fans, seeing how Olivia Wide-Direct’s image is among the most highly anticipated in 2022. Here are five reasons why I’m really excited about do not worry my love!
Chris Pine plays the bad guy
Chris Pine has played many good players in his career and has been highly praised. Of course, one of the roles he is probably best known for is that of Captain Kirk in JJ Abrams Star Trek Movies, but honestly, I don’t quite get into it who – which Chris Pine (has Steve Trevor in amazing woman though), despite his liking for the actor in general, and now I know why: Chris Pine might be better as a bad guy.

What I’m saying is, I think Chris Pine does a lot of his best work When he can play a rude, indifferent, dangerous, deceptive, and/or messy role like a dick, and with Payne saying in Happy sad podcast (Opens in a new tab) He’s playing the damned sect leader and he’s such a creep, I’m excited that we’ll be seeing this version of him in do not worry my love.
It looks terrifying but not directly like horror
I, like many people, have been trying to find as many ways as possible to calm myself down for the past couple of years, but even without this personal decree I can confirm that I’ve never been a fan of horror movies and purposely scared myself. I have some exceptions (alien And the Aliens Both count), but what I enjoy most freely are the movies/shows that bring me some good tough times without much in the context of straightforward horror (unknown files My heart will be forever.)
With what we have seen The do not worry my love tractor, which means I seem to have a very good reason to be excited about the movie. there Several terrifying moments appearedAnd knowing that the plot involves a seemingly utopian society that a young woman begins to realize is hiding some big secrets, it promises to deliver goosebumps (either supernatural or tech-based) that I enjoy without freaking out more about sleep problems at night than I actually do. It looks like there will be enough to make the audience think deeply about scary hoaxes (as with the scene in the screenshot above this section), and I’m 100% ready for that kind of story.
The cast is crazy
I’ve already talked about Chris Pine from all of that when it comes to do not worry my loveBut if you’ve been attentive to the news regarding the upcoming movie, you’ll know that it’s far from the only big name involved. Even knowing that it’s not uncommon for actors to fill their toes with famous people and beloved acting talents, this movie still impresses the cast.
We’re talking about the Oscar nominee.Black Widow And the little Women Star Florence Pugh He leads the cast, with pop star Harry Styles as her husband. Director Olivia Wilde ended up taking a role in do not worry my lovewith also cast including KiKi Layne (If Bill Street could talkAnd the old guard), Gemma Gunn (Crazy Rich AsiansAnd the eternity), Nick Kroll (Netflix’s big mouth And the HR), Timothy Simmons (vice presidentAnd the candies), the comic queen Dita von Teese, and many more. When you combine these actors with what promises to be a wild story, how can you not be excited about it do not worry my love?
I’ve enjoyed Booksmart and I really want to see how Olivia Wilde handles the story
Olivia Wilde has been on our TV and movie screens on a regular basis for nearly two decades, and while we’ve all loved watching her on shows like OC And the a houseand in movies like Tron: LegacyAnd the AcceleratesAnd the Richard JewellI think it is fair to say that one of her greatest professional achievements to date is her first long directing effort, Box Mart.
The 2019 comedy, rated R was loved by critics and viewers alike, and really put Wilde on the map for her directing skills. I, like many others, thoroughly enjoyed it Box Martand was intrigued by Wilde’s choice to go in such a different direction with her second film. While Wilde admitted he was nervous about making the switch From teen comedy to dark period drama do not worry my loveI’m really excited to see how you handle this story. Quite frankly? I actually think she might have succeeded.
I’m all into period pieces where the story’s focus on non-white characters isn’t racist
Having not seen anything but a trailer for do not worry my loveI can’t say for sure that the characters played by actors like KiKi Layne and Gemma Chan wouldn’t have to deal with any racism whatsoever in a ’50s movie, but I think it wouldn’t be the focus of their stories if they did, and that’s definitely something I’m ready to celebrate.
Obviously, stories about racism matter, but a lot of times it seems like movies and TV shows just want to show non-white people dealing with the trauma and pressure of racism, as if that’s the only thing we can deal with on a daily basis. What about the usual stresses of life like marriages falling apart, difficult bosses, raising children, or cult leaders who aren’t as nice as they seem? You know, we have to work though these things too. So, I’m really very Excited to see how these characters deal with (I think) the unique challenges they will present themselves in do not worry my lovewhen the film finally opened on September 23, 2022.
