PS Plus UK release new countdown: date, time, featured and extra games | Games | entertainment

Sony is preparing to launch in the UK the new PS Plus, which will be available to both PS4 and PS5 players. The revamped PS Plus – which launches in the UK on Thursday 23rd June – brings new membership tiers that give players access to a library of hundreds of games. The new PS Plus Extra plan will give gamers access to a library of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games, while PS Plus Premium has a library of up to 340 old games.

PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP games will be available with PS Plus Premium along with Game Trials for PS5 and the ability to stream games.

You won’t be able to stream PS5 games, but you will be able to stream all the other games on PS4, PS5 or even on PC.

While Game Trials – which provides hours of access to games like Horizon Forbidden West – is another big selling point for PS5 games.

PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium will also include everything available with the entry-level PS Plus Essential.

This plan is what PS Plus players already know and love, which offers the ability to play online multiplayer games, a selection of monthly free games to download, exclusive PS Plus discounts and cloud storage.

While the new PS Plus release date has been confirmed, the exact release time has not been announced.

Gamers have tweeted to their Ask PlayStation account to find out when a UK release will be made but no confirmation has been given yet.

Express.co.uk has reached out to Sony to find out when the new PS Plus will be released.

It remains to be seen if the new PS Plus will launch at midnight local time in the regions it releases this week, or at another time.

One possibility is that Sony may follow the release schedule of new PS Plus games available from 10am UK time on release day.

Besides the UK, the new PS Plus will launch in Australia, New Zealand and Europe on Thursday, June 23.

In terms of games that will be available with PS Plus, it has already been confirmed that the additional plan will include PS4 and PS5 games such as Spider-Man, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Red Dead Redemption 2.

While PS Plus Premium will also provide gaming experiences for Horizon Forbidden West and the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves collection, as well as access to PlayStation classics including Tekken 2, Ape Escape and Siphon Filter.

As an added bonus, it’s also been confirmed that some older games – like the PS1 stealth Siphon Filter – will also have trophy support.

If you are considering subscribing to PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium, there is one thing you should keep in mind.

All PS Plus membership tiers have different monthly, quarterly and yearly rates.

But whichever plan you choose, it’s cheaper to pay a year up front.

While the PS Plus Extra is priced similarly per month to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and PS Plus Premium is more per month if you pay for a year up front, it’s cheaper.

Xbox Game Pass is priced at £7.99 a month, while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is priced at £10.99 a month. The latter includes access to the Xbox Game Pass library as well as EA Play and Xbox Live Gold, which is essential for playing online multiplayer games.

You can find the full UK PS Plus pricing below…

PS Plus Essential: £6.99 per month / £19.99 quarterly / £49.99 per year

PS Plus Extra: £10.99 per month / £31.99 quarterly / £83.99 annually

PS Plus Premium: £13.49 per month / £39.99 quarterly / £99.99 per year
