Mr. Schenister quickly became the biggest threat to men on X

The new status quo of the X-Men in the Marvel Universe finds that they live and work alongside their greatest enemies. Villains like Apocalypse, Mystique and Sebastian Shaw now find themselves on the mutant island of Krakow, working with the X-Men to usher in a new era of mutant sexuality. However, at the moment, no villain stands out quite like the eccentric Mr. Schenister. Nathaniel Essex cemented himself as a member of the X-Men Quiet Council, Krakoa’s governing body, but that didn’t stop him from plotting in the background. The latest adventures of Mr. Sinister have been documented in publications Immortal X-Men #3 and X-Men No. 12.

Warning: spoilers for X-Men #3 and X-Men #12 follow. Continue at your own risk!

Immortal X-Men #3 by Kieron Gillen, Lucas Werneck, Dijjo Lima, VC’s Clayton Cowles, Tom Muller and Jay Bowen highlights Destiny, who has the ability to see a potential future. A certain future gets the code name “The Extension” and finds Exodus with a phoenix power chasing Mr. Schenister, also known as Jane-Corsair, through space. Mr. Sinister appears to be responsible for the downfall of Krakow, and punishes an evil exodus by literally devouring him. Before he eats, Sinnister gloats by throwing off the schedule. A vision of fate turns black after Sinister’s death, which she realizes that his death brought about the end of the timeline. The only mutant with that power was Moira MacTaggert, a former friend and now enemy of the X-Men. Fate discovers that Mr. Schenister has cloned Moira – revealed in Immortal X-Men #1 – and stole her powers. Moira had the mutant ability to reincarnate, with the added bonus that she kept her memories of when her life was rebooted. So now Mr. Sinister can sacrifice his clone bodies to see how a certain timeline runs and download this information into his primary body when the clone dies.

This makes Mister Sinister a dangerous player in the life of the X-Men, but that’s not the only plan he has. X-Men #12 by Jerry Duggan, Baby Laraz, Marti Gracia, VC’s Clayton Cowles, Tom Mueller, and Jay Bowen have a completely different subplot for our heroes to contend with. Cyclops and the X-Men were investigating a new villain named Dr. Stasis, who works with the Orchis anti-mutagenic organization. The latest issue finally revealed Dr. Statis, revealing him to be Mr. Sinnister all along — at least, a possible clone of Mr. Sinnister. It becomes harder and harder to tell the truth when dealing with a character.

To his credit, Dr. Stasis pretends to be the real Nathaniel Essex. Cyclops tells, “This hanging savagery is just a failed experiment polluting itself with your vile genes!” Readers learned back through tenth house/Powers of X The era in which Sinister possesses Thunderbird’s DNA, the recently revived mutant will likely have a problem at some point in the future. Essex’s hatred of mutations may have something to do with a young boy pictured. When Doctor Stasis destroys his own house, he takes a picture of a tiny mutant with a head that appears to be unusually large. He says to the boy in the picture, “I’ll fix what’s broken inside of you…”, so there must be a great connection between the two.

Sinister is involved in several chains of events when you consider that readers still haven’t received the bounty of the Chimera he helped create Powers of X. The X-Men titles only harassed the mutants using their power together by reshaping Mars to the protocols of Araku’s Resurrection and the Five. If Mister Sinister stays on this sinister path, he will soon overtake Moira MacTaggert on the most wanted list. Of course, until Moira (disguised as Mary Jane Watson) and Orquis crash Hellfire’s 2022 party.
