Another day on the Spring anime slate, another batch of series are reaching their final episodes.
Today, fans of the dark fantasy series Isekai Skeleton Knight in Another World are preparing to bid farewell to Ark and his new friends.
However, many are already looking forward to what the future holds and the possibility of a second adventure in another world.
Unfortunately, Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 is currently still TBA, but why is the revamp likely now based on source material versus popularity?

Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 renewal status
As previously noted, Skeleton Knight in Other World has not been publicly renewed for a second season and unfortunately, chances of a comeback are now dependent on source material versus popularity.
On the other hand, the Skeleton Knight in Other World anime adaptation has a lot of source material available from the Season 2 original light novel series. for every anime geekThe anime will likely find a stopping point around volume 3 of the original Ennki Hakari series.
The good news is that as of June 23research and development10 volumes light novel published in Japan. This means there is enough content to be adapted for television across a potentially three seasons full of 12 episodes.
The bad news is that the anime does not appear to have significantly improved sales of the light novel or follow-up to the manga; Which can be a frustratingly important sticking point for revamping animations. Unfortunately, Skeleton Knight in Another World did not appear in Oricon’s Top 20 Best Seller rankings for April 2022 when the anime premiered, for both the light novel and manga series.
The anime also scores 6.8/10 in IMDB70% on anilist and 3.9/5 in Anime Planet. Skeleton Knight in Another World is also rated 7.24/10 in Anime Listmaking it only 21Street Top Rated Series fountain Anime list. TV adaptation can also only manage peak 13The tenth put on AnyTrends Ongoing opinion polls.
So while these results aren’t necessarily a reason to give up all hope for Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2, they certainly won’t help considering there’s no boost to light novel and manga sales.
Interestingly, despite these disappointing results, there’s a chance that Studio Kai, the team behind the anime adaptation, might see these ratings a little differently. Skeleton Knight in Another World is arguably one of her biggest titles to date and of her six previous projects, two of them were actually sequels.
With all of their next three titles set for later this year (Prince of Tennis and Shine Post in July, Fuuto PI in August), the studio may be looking to begin early development for the Skeleton Knight 2 season by the end of 2022.

While 10 volumes of the light novel series have been published in Japan, nine are currently available for reading in English, and volume 10 is scheduled for release in March 2023.
